Building the cloud that comes after.

Avahana is not another wrapper around AWS. It is a high-performance, developer-first cloud engine that democratizes provider-grade architecture.

The mission

We exist to prove that ease of use and raw metal performance are not opposites. Today's market forces developers into a false dichotomy: convenience at the cost of physics, or power at the cost of sanity. We reject both.

Our long-form values are on the manifesto page. The technical realization is on the architecture page.

Why now

Three shifts in the ecosystem make this possible — and the incumbents are too heavy to catch them.

The unbundling of the cloud stack

Five years ago, building a cloud meant writing a hypervisor and an SDN from scratch. Today, the open-source primitives have surpassed proprietary tech. We can now route packets faster than AWS VPCs and achieve Lambda-like efficiency for any workload.

The hardware-software gap

Hyperscalers run on virtualization stacks designed 15 years ago. They struggle to utilize modern NVMe Gen5 (10 GB/s+) and 100 GbE without massive overhead. A greenfield stack captures the performance dividend.

The geopolitical imperative

The era of centralized US-East-1 is ending. Data sovereignty laws — DPDP, GDPR, and equivalents — demand infrastructure that respects national boundaries. Our Hollow Fleet architecture puts a region anywhere there is a server and an internet connection.

Where we're built

We are built from India, for the world. India hosts the fastest-growing developer population on Earth and a regulatory environment that is forcing a rethink of where data lives. We think both of those facts matter.
